 DEALING WITH UNEMPLOYMENT AMONG YOUTHS IN AFRICA A GLOBAL CRISIS 

Africa has the largest number of Youths. Employment remains the largest predicament facing most youths with good education hence an obstacle to growth in Africa.




With an increasing number of Youths that are significantly educated, Africa could majorly benefit from innovative ideas and the potential the young workforce has to offer. Lack of employment opportunities and poor grounds for entrepreneurial and innovative endeavors it has led to a reduction in productivity and increased poverty among youths. Unemployment has caused most youths to settle for unsafe or any job that makes ends meet.

The challenging problem of labour and youth education: A wake up call for Africa

African governments should review labor policies to improve employment opportunities and offer youths social protection like decent wages and good working conditions. Programs that improve employability skills for different groups of youths like disability cases or women should be enacted to improve the livelihood of African youths.

Africa’s Youth Unemployment Crisis Is a Global Problem

Uneducated youths should be equipped with basic employable skills such as agriculture, carpentry, welding, or tailoring to improve their ability to provide for themselves and escape poverty.



Youths should be allowed to be advocates and speak about their challenges or their ideas. Governments should allow for dialogues and understand what skills youth poses and how they can be sharpened to match employers' needs

Youths in Africa are the most valuable resources and the key to Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063  “Africa we want” and to achieving sustainability in the global economy.
